Amazon plans to build dozens of warehouses in rural areas in the United States by the end of next year to expand its business scope and reduce its reliance on other carriers. The company expects to have approximately 210 delivery stations in operation as part of a broad effort to establish a dedicated rural delivery network starting in 2020. Amazon spokesperson Alexa Clark said that by the end of 2023, the company operated around 70 such facilities, but she refused to disclose the current number operated by the company. Amazon stated that by the end of 2026, it will have invested a total of $4 billion in this project.
