During the May 1st to May 5th holiday, there will be no restrictions on vehicle license plate numbers, and small passenger cars with 7 seats or less can pass through the highways for free. The holiday period will see a peak in traffic flow on highways, with suburban attractions, urban parks, and commercial districts becoming popular destinations for travel. Some traffic stations will experience increased traffic pressure, with traffic congestion around large event venues. It is expected that during the holiday, there will be heavy traffic in both directions of highways leading into and out of Beijing, with tidal peak hours of morning traffic heading out of Beijing and afternoon traffic heading into Beijing. In the morning, it is expected that the traffic pressure on highways such as the Beijing-Tibet, Beijing-Chengde, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao, Beijing-Shanghai, and Airport Expressways, as well as some national roads heading out of Beijing, will significantly increase during peak hours from 7 am to 12 pm, with May 1st experiencing the most pronounced traffic pressure. In the afternoon, traffic pressure will increase on highways such as the Beijing-Tibet, Beijing-Chengde, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao, Beijing-Shanghai, Beijing-Kaifeng, and Airport Expressways heading into Beijing, with May 3rd, 4th, and 5th experiencing pronounced traffic pressure from 1 pm to 8 pm.
