Question: We noticed that the Ministry of Commerce has issued an announcement, starting a trade and investment barrier investigation on Mexico's related restrictions on China. Can you introduce the relevant situation? China believes that under the current situation of the US imposing tariffs indiscriminately, all countries should collectively oppose various forms of unilateralism and protectionism, and must not sacrifice the interests of third parties due to coercion by others. If Mexico's unilateral tax increase measures are implemented, even within the framework of the WTO, they will harm the interests of related trading partners, including China, and seriously affect the certainty of Mexico's business environment, reducing confidence in investment by companies in Mexico. China strongly opposes this. In order to firmly safeguard the interests of relevant Chinese industries, the Ministry of Commerce has decided to launch a trade and investment barrier investigation on Mexico's proposed measures to increase import tariffs on China based on relevant provisions of the Foreign Trade Law and the Foreign Trade Barrier Investigation Rules. This investigation will adhere to the principles of impartiality, fairness, and openness, and welcomes active participation in the investigation from all stakeholders, including Chinese domestic industries and companies affected by Mexico's measures. The Ministry of Commerce will make objective and impartial rulings based on the results of the investigation, and will take necessary measures according to the actual circumstances to firmly safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
