During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the average GDP growth rate in Fangchenggang, Guangxi reached 8.1%.

On September 12, the Autonomous Region Government Information Office held a series of themed press conferences on the "high-quality completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan" in the region. The main leaders of Fangchenggang City attended and introduced the progress of the construction of the city as a modern industrial port and answered questions from journalists. The economic strength has significantly increased. Over the past 5 years, Fangchenggang City has promoted the GDP of the entire region to increase from 752 billion yuan in 2020 to 1.168 trillion yuan in 2024, with an average growth rate of 8.1% in the first four years, higher than the national and regional averages. The per capita GDP increased from 73,000 yuan in 2020 to nearly 110,000 yuan in 2024, consistently ranking first in Guangxi for many years. The city has built a modern industrial system centered on steel, non-ferrous metals, energy, food and pharmaceuticals, and new materials in the port area. The Fangchenggang Economic Development Zone has ranked first in the region in industrial output value for nine consecutive years and became the first industrial park in Guangxi with an output value exceeding 200 billion yuan in 2023.
