Around 8 o'clock today, the 13th typhoon of this year, "Swordfish", was generated and is expected to land or pass by the southern coast of Hainan Island tomorrow evening. Under its influence, there will be stronger winds and rain in most parts of Hainan in the next two days, with the southeast region experiencing heavy to very heavy rain. There is a high possibility of flash floods in some areas, so precautions should be taken. According to the relevant provisions of the Emergency Plan for Flood and Typhoon Prevention and drought in Hainan Province and the consultation analysis, the Disaster Reduction and Relief Committee of Hainan Province has decided to adjust the maritime typhoon emergency response level from level IV to flood and wind emergency response level IV at 11 am on August 23. The maritime typhoon response action will be integrated into the flood and wind emergency response action and will be implemented simultaneously. The Haikou Municipal Transportation and Port Authority issued a notice at 11 o'clock on August 23 stating that, due to the impact of the 13th typhoon of this year, "Swordfish", the Haikou Xinhaigang Port, Xiuying Port, and the South Rail Port will be suspended from operation starting at 5 pm on August 23. The suspension is expected to last until the morning of August 25.
