Omdia: Shipments of small and medium-sized display panels in the second quarter are expected to decline by 6% year-on-year.

According to the latest analysis from the Omdia Quarterly Small and Medium-sized Display Panel Market Tracking Report obtained by Wisdom Finance APP, it is estimated that the shipment volume in the second quarter of 2025 will decrease by 10% compared to the previous quarter and by 6% year-on-year. This market downturn is mainly due to business and inventory adjustments made by manufacturers of small and medium-sized display applications such as smartwatches and smartphones. Due to the previous impact of tariff risks, these manufacturers had significantly increased panel inventory from the fourth quarter of 2024 to the first quarter of 2025. However, with the easing of tariff concerns in the second quarter of 2025, device manufacturers have started to adopt more conservative procurement strategies, resulting in a reduction in panel shipments.
