Hainan Provincial Party Secretary Feng Fei, Governor Liu Xiaoming, and representatives from foreign free trade zones held a meeting.
According to "Hainan Release", on October 12, Feng Fei, Secretary of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee, and Liu Xiaoming, Governor of the province, held talks with foreign representatives of free trade zones attending the 11th World Free Trade Zone Congress in Haikou. Feng Fei stated that free trade zones are the most dynamic regions for global economic development today. The conference brought together representatives from free trade zones around the world to discuss cooperation and development, providing an important platform for mutual learning and alignment of rules for global free trade zones. Hainan is located at the intersection of the two most active markets in mainland China and Southeast Asia, with unique open policy advantages. It is aligning with international high standards for economic trade rules, building "two bases", "two hubs", and "two networks", accelerating the high-quality construction of China's distinctive free trade port, and striving to create an important gateway leading China's new era of opening up to the outside world. The Hainan Free Trade Port is scheduled to start island-wide customs operations on December 18th this year, with endless development opportunities. It is hoped that relying on platforms such as the World Free Trade Zone Congress, closer alignment of rules and mutual learning with free trade zones around the world can be achieved, establishing closer partnerships and promoting the realization of more substantial cooperation projects, and sharing development opportunities with the world.
