Military expert Cao Weidong explained that due to the Fujian being a large 80,000-ton aircraft carrier with electromagnetic catapults and equipped with a large amount of automated, information-based weapons systems, its power consumption is enormous. The Fujian is a conventional power aircraft carrier, and in the design process, it must ensure the proper distribution of power among various departments and equipment, making its design more complex than that of nuclear-powered carriers.
