On the morning of September 24th, the Taiwan Affairs Office held a routine press conference. Reporter: According to reports, recently some Taiwan businessmen in mainland China received a notice from the Taiwan "Immigration Department" requesting a written reply within 10 days to explain whether they have obtained a mainland settlement permit. The Taiwan Affairs Office responded that the individuals involved should have been reported, and it is better to reply as soon as possible. What is your comment on this? Spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office, Chen Binhua: The Democratic Progressive Party authorities, out of their inherent nature of seeking "independence," continuously interfere with and obstruct normal exchanges and personnel exchanges between the two sides through various excuses and means, creating "green terror" and heightening the opposition between the two sides. These various retrogressive actions will surely face stronger and more resolute opposition from more and more Taiwanese people. We will continue to provide convenience for Taiwanese people to travel to mainland China, continue to provide assistance for Taiwanese people to develop in mainland China, and continue to lawfully, effectively protect the personal information security of Taiwanese people holding permits.
