Recently, Chen Xu, head of the Chinese government delegation and representative of the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, attended and spoke at the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, opposing interference by some countries in the normal judicial cooperation between sovereign states under the pretext of human rights and calling for the promotion and protection of all human rights. Chen Xu first spoke on behalf of the "Friends of the UN Charter" group, pointing out that unwarranted accusations and slander by some countries against normal law enforcement and judicial cooperation between sovereign states, the indiscriminate imposition of unilateral coercive measures on developing countries, and the unilateral use of force or threat of force against sovereign states are blatant acts of unilateralism and hegemonism that seriously deviate from the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter. In his national statement, Chen Xu stated that China attaches great importance to and safeguards human rights, has achieved success in the fight against poverty, and has made fruitful achievements in the "14th Five-Year Plan." China has proposed a global governance initiative, advocating for all parties to work together to build a more just and equitable global human rights governance system, respect the human rights paths of each country, firmly oppose the politicization and instrumentalization of human rights under the pretext of human rights, and call on all countries to jointly uphold the purposes and principles of the United Nations and effectively promote and protect all human rights.
