The State Council Information Office held a press conference this morning, during which the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs introduced the situation of high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. The relevant person in charge stated that since the beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan", we have deeply studied and applied the experience of the "Million Villages" project, insisting on rural construction for the sake of farmers, adhering to the implementation mechanism that is sound from the bottom up and involves widespread participation of farmers, establishing a system of tasks list for rural construction and a project library management system, coordinating resources, adapting measures to local conditions to improve the living environment of rural residents, solidly promoting rural construction, and the farmers have more stronger sense of happiness, gain, and security. The main improvements are in the following "Three Increases": firstly, the comfort of the living environment continues to improve; secondly, the completeness of infrastructure steadily increases; and thirdly, the convenience of public services gradually improves.
