Recently, the United States deployed multiple warships near Venezuela in the Caribbean Sea under the pretext of "combatting Latin American drug trafficking groups," leading to ongoing tensions between the two countries. On September 15th local time, US President Trump took to social media to announce that the US military conducted a second strike that morning against so-called "drug trafficking groups and drug terrorists" from Venezuela, and released a video of the operation. Trump stated that the ships in the video were transporting drugs to the United States in international waters, and that the strike resulted in 3 deaths with no casualties among US military personnel. As of now, Venezuela has not responded to these claims. Earlier this month on the 2nd, Trump had claimed that the US military attacked a vessel allegedly "shipping drugs from Venezuela" in the southern Caribbean Sea.
