On September 11th, it was learned from BYD that their megawatt fast-charging technology will be first used in the European market by the Tang brand. The first batch of 200-300 megawatt fast-charging stations are planned to be launched in the European market in the second quarter of 2026. On the evening of March 17th this year, BYD launched the "megawatt fast-charging" technology in China, with a maximum charging rate of up to 10C and a maximum charging power of 1MW. Video shown at the launch event demonstrated that the Han L megawatt fast-charging achieved a charging speed of adding 407 kilometers of range in just 5 minutes. Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Group, stated at the event, "The ultimate solution to alleviate range anxiety in electric vehicles is to make the charging time as short as refueling time for gasoline cars, achieving 'oil and electric at the same speed'."
