Great news coming from the major national equipment! The Jiangmen Neutrino Experiment large scientific device is officially operational.

On August 26, 2025, the Jiangmen Neutrino Experiment successfully completed the infusion of 20,000 tons of liquid scintillator and officially began data collection. After more than a decade of preparation and construction, the Jiangmen Neutrino Experiment has become the world's first operating large-scale and high-precision neutrino-specific scientific facility. The initial data obtained during the trial operation period show that the key performance indicators of the Jiangmen Neutrino Experiment detector fully meet or exceed design expectations, enabling this large scientific facility to address a major problem in the field of particle physics in the next decade: neutrino mass ordering. It will assist scientists in conducting cutting-edge research on neutrinos from the Sun, supernovae, the atmosphere, and the Earth, opening up a new window for exploring unknown physics.
