The Ministry of Water Resources has initiated a Level IV emergency response for flood defense in three provinces/regions.

On the morning of August 24th, the Ministry of Water Resources held a consultation meeting to analyze the movement path, impact range, and national rainfall situation of Typhoon "Swordfish," and deployed measures for the prevention of heavy rain and flooding. Following the "Emergency Response Regulations for Flood and Drought Prevention" of the Ministry of Water Resources, a Level IV emergency response for flood prevention was initiated in Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan provinces on the 24th at 9:00 am. Two work teams were dispatched to Guangdong and Hainan to assist in guiding the work of typhoon, heavy rain, and flood prevention. Local water departments and basin management agencies were instructed to closely monitor the development of the typhoon, residual cloud systems, rainfall, and flood situations. Consultations were ongoing, timely warning information was issued, flood control engineering was scientifically and finely scheduled, safety measures for reservoirs and ongoing construction projects were effectively implemented for flood control, particular emphasis was placed on preventing floods and flash floods in small and medium-sized rivers, urban flooding prevention was coordinated, threatened populations were promptly relocated, and efforts were made to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
