Sichuan further optimizes preferential funeral policies for the people, and starting next month, cremation costs will be included in the subsidy range.

According to the Sichuan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, recently, the provincial civil affairs department and the provincial finance department issued a notice to further optimize the preferential funeral policies for the people and simplify the application process. Starting from September 1st, all funeral parlors will uniformly use crematoriums for cremation, and the cremation costs will be included in the scope of subsidies for the preferential funeral policies. For those that are not currently equipped, they must accelerate the renovation of cremators and implement it by no later than June 30th next year. Each city will implement preferential funeral policies by subsidizing based on actual conditions or fixed amounts, and payments can be made through either direct deductions or subsidies.
