On August 11, the American newspaper "The Washington Post" reported that a recent study by the American investment bank Goldman Sachs found that American consumers will bear a large portion of the costs of tariff policies in the future. According to the research team of Goldman Sachs analyst Ailsey Peng, as of June this year, American businesses have borne 64% of the tariff costs. American consumers have borne 22%, while foreign export companies have borne 14% by lowering export prices. Goldman Sachs expects this ratio to change significantly, as products such as cars that are currently affected by US tariff policies have a greater impact on import and export companies, while the impact on the consumer end is still gradually emerging. Currently, the retail prices of household appliances and computer equipment in the United States have significantly increased compared to before.
