According to the data from Munich Re, a reinsurance company headquartered in Germany, weather disasters have already caused losses of up to $93 billion in the United States in just the first six months of 2025. The report points out that 90% of global weather-related natural disaster insurance occurs within the United States. Among them, the wildfires in California in January alone caused losses of up to $53 billion, setting a new record for wildfire losses in history, making it the most devastating natural disaster in the first half of 2025.
