Today, it was learned from the press conference in Foshan City that the rapid rise of the dengue fever epidemic in Jikong Kenia has been preliminarily curbed by the end of July. The recent prevention and control measures have been further consolidated, especially in Shunde District, the core area of this round of the epidemic, where the number of new confirmed cases has been decreasing for 10 consecutive days. However, it is still the active season for mosquito-borne diseases in the southern region, and frequent heavy rains caused by typhoons have made it more difficult to eliminate the epidemic and clean up standing water containers. Local mosquito density may still fluctuate. Therefore, experts remind that the "turning pots and buckets to drain stagnant water" action still needs to be continued, focusing on clearing breeding grounds in old communities, construction sites, underground parking lots, parks, and public green spaces after frequent rainfall, and continuing mosquito elimination in epidemic areas. It is recommended that residents continue to take personal protective measures, such as burning mosquito coils, using mosquito nets, installing screens, clearing standing water, cleaning up garbage, and actively participating in the "1130" mosquito prevention and elimination campaign, which involves "clearing stagnant water for 1 minute before and after work, conducting a thorough cleaning once a week, inspecting breeding grounds for 3 minutes every day, and working together to build mosquito-free areas."
