The Ministry of Water Resources maintains a level IV emergency response for flood control in Gansu and other areas.
On the morning of August 9th, the Ministry of Water Resources held a consultation to assess the nationwide rainfall situation and arrange deployment for the prevention of heavy rain and flooding. It issued targeted reminders to 12 provinces including Shanxi, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, and Qinghai to ensure the safety of reservoirs and silt dams during the flood season, as well as to prevent flood and landslide disasters in small and medium-sized rivers. Currently, the Ministry of Water Resources has maintained a level IV emergency response for flood prevention in provinces such as Gansu, Jiangsu, Anhui, Qinghai, and Xinjiang. Five working groups from the Ministry of Water Resources are on the front lines in Gansu and other areas, providing guidance on flood prevention and emergency rescue operations.
