The National Health Commission reported on August 9th that in July, a total of 946,063 cases of statutory infectious diseases were reported nationwide, with 2,060 deaths. There were 3 cases of Class A infectious diseases reported, all of which were cholera cases with no reported deaths. There were 513,765 cases of Class B infectious diseases reported, with 2,059 deaths. There were no reported cases of SARS, poliomyelitis, human infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza, diphtheria, and human infection with H7N9 avian influenza. The top 5 reported diseases in Class B infectious diseases were new coronavirus infections, viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, syphilis, and gonorrhea, accounting for 95.1% of the total reported cases. In the same period, there were 432,295 cases of Class C infectious diseases reported, with 1 death. The top 3 reported diseases in Class C infectious diseases were hand, foot, and mouth disease, other infectious diarrheal diseases, and influenza, accounting for 97.6% of the total reported cases.
