The latest road logistics price index released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing today shows that the index of various vehicle types in July has fallen compared to the previous month, but still maintains growth compared to the same period last year. Due to market demand contraction and the effect of high temperatures, the road logistics price index shows a seasonal decline.
In July, the road logistics price index in China was 105 points, a decrease of 0.05% compared to the previous month, and an increase of 1.8% compared to the same period last year.
Looking at the index by vehicle type, the index of each type of vehicle has fallen compared to the previous month, but still maintains growth compared to the same period last year. The index of full truck transportation, mainly for bulk commodities and regional transportation, was 105.6 points, a decrease of 0.05% from the previous month and an increase of 2.1% compared to the same period last year.
Overall, affected by seasonal factors such as high temperatures and heavy rainfall, the road market demand has slowed down compared to the previous period, but the capacity supply is still relatively sufficient, leading to a seasonal decline in the price index. In terms of regions, the road transportation price index in the northeastern and Yangtze River Delta regions has slightly increased.
Looking at the future trend, the fluctuation of road transportation price index in the near future is relatively small, indicating a short-term balance in the road market supply and demand adjustment. With continued efforts towards policy guidance to increase quantity and prevent overworking, the road transportation market is expected to maintain a stable operating trend.
