Australia's National Broadband Network company signs contract with Amazon for satellite broadband services.

On August 5th, the Australian National Broadband Network company and Amazon announced an agreement to provide high-speed wholesale fixed broadband services to some remote and rural areas of Australia using the "Project Kuiper" near-earth satellite technology. "Project Kuiper" is Amazon's near-earth orbit satellite broadband service aimed at providing fast and reliable internet connectivity to users worldwide. Amazon plans to launch this service in Australia in mid-2026.
