The Ministry of Water Resources has launched a Level IV emergency response for flood defense in Guangdong and Guangxi.
According to the forecast, affected by the southwest warm and humid airflow, from August 4th to 6th, most of Guangdong and Guangxi will experience heavy to torrential rain, locally severe rainstorms. The main rivers in the Pearl River Basin, including the main stream of the West River and its tributaries, Liujian River, Guijiang River, Yujiang River, Hejiang River, as well as the Beijiang River, Dongjiang River, and Hanjiang River, will experience rising water levels. Some rivers in the heavy rain area may experience floods above the warning level. In accordance with the "Regulations on Emergency Response for Flood Control and Drought Relief of the Ministry of Water Resources," the Ministry of Water Resources activated a Level IV emergency response for flood control in Guangdong and Guangxi provinces on August 4th at 15:00.
