On July 27th local time, an attack occurred around a church in eastern Congo, resulting in at least 21 deaths. According to a local civil society coordinator, in the early morning of the 27th, the Democratic Forces Alliance attacked a Catholic church in the Komanda area of Ituri province in eastern Congo, and set fire to and looted many nearby houses and shops. The search and accounting work is still ongoing.
