On July 23, Deputy Minister of Finance Liao Min met with the Secretary-General of the ASEAN Secretariat for Disaster Risk Financing Initiative in China, Japan, and South Korea, He Yohei, in Beijing to exchange views on deepening cooperation in disaster risk financing in the 10+3 region. Liao Min stated that climate-related disasters in the 10+3 region are becoming increasingly severe, and China supports deepening cooperation within the 10+3 financial cooperation mechanism, leveraging existing initiatives in disaster risk financing, and promoting joint efforts to address the challenges of climate change in the region, contributing to enhancing regional climate resilience and sustainable development. He Yohei expressed that China is one of the most important countries in the region and has rich experience in disaster risk financing and insurance. He looks forward to China continuing to support the 10+3 disaster risk financing initiative and helping the region better cope with climate-related disaster risks.
