The core CPI in the United States has been rising for the fifth consecutive month, lower than expected.
In June, the United States' core inflation recorded lower-than-expected increases for the fifth consecutive month, mainly dragged down by automobile prices. Data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Tuesday showed that the Consumer Price Index, excluding volatile food and energy prices, rose by 0.2% from May. Year-on-year, the increase was 2.9%.
