Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam consults with the Chief Executive's Council of Advisers on this year's policy address.
The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, held a lunch meeting with the Chief Executive's Advisory Council for three consecutive days from July 9th to 11th, listening to the opinions of members of the advisory council on this year's policy address and the overall development of Hong Kong. Carrie Lam said that this was the first meeting of the members of the second Chief Executive's Advisory Council. It was reported that the meeting had extensive discussions on three main topics: high-quality and sustainable development of Hong Kong's economy, innovation and entrepreneurship, and regional and global cooperation. Members of the Chief Executive's Advisory Council at the meeting expressed that Hong Kong has unique advantages such as internal and external connectivity, educational and scientific research advantages, a superior geographical location, and being an international financial center with free flow of capital, attracting mainland Chinese companies to list in Hong Kong and using Hong Kong as a "going global" platform. Carrie Lam thanked all members for providing insights and suggestions on the current situation and future development vision of Hong Kong, which will serve as important references for the overall development strategy of Hong Kong and this year's policy address. Carrie Lam is scheduled to deliver her fourth policy address during her tenure in September this year, with relevant public consultations starting on June 16th.
