The average life expectancy has reached 79 years, and many of China's livelihood indicators have exceeded the targets of the "14th Five-Year Plan."
The "14th Five-Year Plan" outline proposes 7 livelihood indicators, accounting for more than one-third of the 20 main indicators, the highest among all previous five-year plans. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China will continue to introduce a number of powerful and warm, tangible livelihood policies to respond to the people's expectations and work to solve the worries of the people. Several livelihood indicators have exceeded the goals of the "14th Five-Year Plan": the average life expectancy has reached 79 years, exceeding the goal of "increasing by 1 year" in the plan; the basic old-age insurance coverage rate is above 95%, exceeding the goal of 95% in the plan; the number of practicing physicians per thousand people has reached 3.6, exceeding the goal of 3.2 in the plan.
