Wang Yi meets with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Prak Sokhonn
On July 10, 2025, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Prak Sokhonn in Kuala Lumpur. Wang Yi stated that China and Cambodia should strengthen cooperation within the frameworks of the three major global initiatives, enrich the cooperation framework of the "Diamond Hexagon" between the two countries, implement the cooperation plans of the "Industrial Development Corridor" and "Rice and Fish Corridor," and promote the early harvest of projects. He hoped that both sides would take more powerful and effective measures to resolutely crack down on cross-border crimes such as online gambling, telecom fraud, counterfeiting, and smuggling, thoroughly eradicate the roots of these crimes, and safeguard the security of the people of both countries. Wang Yi emphasized that the United States' imposition of high tariffs on Cambodia and Southeast Asian countries is an attempt to deprive them of their legitimate development rights. He believed that Southeast Asian countries are capable of handling complex situations, adhering to principles, and safeguarding their own interests as well as the common interests of all parties.
