Beijing ranks first in the world in the number of patents authorized for digital technological inventions.

Beijing has made significant achievements in building itself into a benchmark city for global digital economy. Yesterday, the "Data Elements and Economic Security" special forum of the 2025 Global Digital Economy Conference was held at the Capital University of Economics and Business, where the "Beijing Digital Economy Development Research Report 2025" was released. Data shows that in 2024, the added value of Beijing's digital economy accounted for more than 52% of GDP, ranking first in the world in terms of the number of digital technology invention patents authorized, and strengthening its role as a digital trade port, creating the "Beijing Plan" for the digital transformation of global cities.
