On July 4th local time, French President Macron met with Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the lyse Palace in Paris. Macron asked Wang Yi to convey his good wishes and friendly sentiment to President Xi Jinping, stating that France and China have a wide range of consensus on important issues such as advocating multilateralism and adhering to international law. With increasing uncertainties and unpredictability in the world today, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, France and China bear greater responsibilities. France looks forward to strengthening policy coordination with China in international economy, finance, global governance, and jointly addressing global challenges to inject more vitality into multilateralism and prevent the world from falling into hegemonic conflicts and camp confrontations. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, Europe and China should make strategic choices to become predictable and reliable friends and partners to each other. France attaches great importance to the development of France-China relations, welcomes increased Chinese investment in France, and aims to develop a more balanced economic and trade relationship. I look forward to visiting China again at the appropriate time. Wang Yi conveyed President Xi Jinping's warm greetings to President Macron, stating that China is willing to work with France to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, prepare for the next stage of high-level exchanges, and deepen cooperation in various fields. China and France are comprehensive strategic partners and also two major stabilizing forces in the world. The more turbulent the international situation, the more strategic value of the China-France relationship is highlighted. China believes that the trend of multipolarity is unstoppable, and the trend of globalization is irreversible. Taking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations as an opportunity, we should further strengthen the core position of the United Nations and effectively play its due role. We are willing to strengthen strategic communication and unity with France, jointly practice multilateralism, oppose unilateral bullying, resist camp confrontation, inject more certainty and predictability into the world intertwined with turmoil, promote equal and orderly world multipolarization and inclusive economic globalization, and join hands in building a community of shared future for humanity. Wang Yi stated that China is moving towards high-quality development, committed to building a higher level of open economic system, creating a market-oriented, rule-based, international first-class business environment, and actively promoting the strategy of expanding domestic demand. We are willing to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with France and hope that France will provide a better and fairer environment for Chinese companies to invest and operate in France. Through friendly consultations, China and Europe have resolved the issue of brandy, and we hope that France, as a core EU member, will promote the EU to properly handle economic and trade disputes with China and actively respond to China's concerns. Both parties also exchanged views on the Ukraine crisis, the situation in Gaza, the Iran nuclear issue, and other issues.
