Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., will face demands from the UK anti-trust regulator to make its online search and advertising business (including search results generated by artificial intelligence) more fair and transparent. This move could make Google the first company to be penalized for violating stricter UK digital regulations. The Competition and Markets Authority proposed to designate Google as a company with "strategic market status." The agency expressed concerns in a statement released on Tuesday about the fairness of its search results, high advertising costs, and the use of content in AI-generated search replies.
