On June 24th local time, the spokesperson for the Iraqi Armed Forces Commander Sabah al-Numan issued a statement stating that between 2:15 am and 3:45 am, a group of small suicide drones targeted multiple military bases and facilities in Iraq, launching attacks, causing severe damage to the radar systems at the Taji Camp air base north of the capital Baghdad and the Imam Ali air base in the southern province of Jigyar, but no casualties were reported. The statement said that the Iraqi security forces successfully thwarted attacks on four other locations and intercepted and shot down drones attempting to launch attacks. All the targets were military facilities under the Iraqi security forces and managed by the Iraqi military. The statement pointed out that in response to this serious attack, Iraqi Prime Minister and Armed Forces Commander Mustafa al-Kadhimi has ordered the formation of a high-level technical and intelligence committee composed of representatives of Iraqi security agencies to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the attack, identify the attackers, and continue to follow up on the investigation results.
