Ministry of Commerce: Silk Road e-commerce expands cooperation, benefiting partners in 35 countries worldwide.
According to the Financial APP of iFeng, on June 20, the person in charge of the e-commerce department of the Ministry of Commerce introduced the development of China's e-commerce in the first five months of 2025. From January to May, China's e-commerce has played to its strengths in innovation, new business models, large market size, and extensive international cooperation, unleashing domestic demand vitality, accelerating the integration of domestic and foreign trade, and helping to build an inclusive and equitable economic globalization. Key monitoring indicators show that the sales of digital products on platforms, 15 categories of trade-ins for old and new household appliances and electronics, network service consumption, and real-time retail sales have increased by 10.4%, 14%, 13.3%, and 12% respectively. Since April, the sales of the platform's foreign trade special zone have exceeded 20 billion. Partner countries have upgraded and expanded, establishing a bilateral e-commerce cooperation mechanism with Kazakhstan and setting up new bilateral e-commerce cooperation mechanisms with Bangladesh, increasing the number of partner countries to 35.
