Recently, the Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment announced the list of key emitting units in the steel, cement, and aluminum smelting industries in Hubei Province that will be included in the national carbon emissions trading market for the years 2024 and 2025. In accordance with the requirements for expanding the national carbon emissions trading market, Hubei will have 47 new enterprises participating in national carbon market transactions. According to the list, Hubei will have seven steel companies including Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., Daye Special Steel Co., Ltd., and Baowu Group Echeng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.; 38 cement companies including Hubei Yadi Cement Co., Ltd., Yangxin Washi Cement Co., Ltd., and Huanxin Cement (Yangxin) Co., Ltd.; and two aluminum smelting companies including Hanjiang Danjiangkou Aluminum Co., Ltd. and Qianjiang City Zhenghao Huasheng Aluminum Co., Ltd. participating in national carbon trading.
