Tesla's fully automatic driving cars are about to be delivered, but the Robotaxi has not yet been on the road and has already encountered protests in the United States.
Recently, Tesla CEO Musk announced on social media platform that the company will soon deliver the first fully autonomous driving car in Austin, Texas, USA, and will also promote the trial operation of Robotaxi service. According to Musk, the first fully autonomous driving Tesla car will be delivered on June 28th, controlled entirely by Tesla's latest FSD software, without the need for a steering wheel or pedals. However, after Musk announced the trial period for Robotaxi, opposition voices also emerged. It is reported that on Thursday local time, advocates for public safety gathered in downtown Austin to express their concerns about Tesla's introduction of self-driving taxis. Some opponents believe that Tesla's semi-autonomous driving systems have safety issues. Currently, Tesla's cars sold in the US come standard with automatic driving assistance systems, or can be optionally equipped with more advanced fully autonomous driving systems. These systems include functions such as automatic lane keeping, automatic turning, and automatic parking. According to data tracked by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vehicles equipped with these systems have been involved in hundreds of collisions, including dozens of fatal accidents.
