The first direct flight route between the United States and Greenland has officially opened.

On June 14th local time, United Airlines opened the first direct flight from the United States to Greenland. The flight time from New York Newark Airport to Nuuk New International Airport in Greenland has been shortened to just over four hours. United Airlines is the first and only airline in the United States to offer direct flights to Nuuk. The route will first depart from New York, with the inaugural flight scheduled to arrive in Nuuk at 9:45 PM on the 14th in local time in Denmark.
