Former party secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Health Commission, Yang Hui, has been expelled from the party and dismissed from public office.
The website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the National Supervision Commission reported on May 30th that, according to the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, with the approval of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision has initiated a case review and investigation into the serious disciplinary and legal violations of Yang Hui, a member of the 13th Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Guizhou Province and former Secretary of the Party Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Health Commission.
After investigation, it was found that Yang Hui had lost his ideal and belief, deviated from his original intentions, engaged in political opportunism; violated organizational principles, failed to report personal matters in accordance with regulations, sought benefits for others and accepted gifts and money in cadre transfer work; breached the bottom line of integrity, illegally accepted gifts; did not fulfill his work duties correctly, intervened in market economic activities; engaged in greed and corruption, used public power as a tool for personal gain, engaged in power-for-money transactions, utilized his position for the benefit of others, and illegally accepted large sums of money.
Yang Hui seriously violated party political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, and work discipline, committing serious violations of laws and regulations in his official duties, and is suspected of bribery crimes. Moreover, he did not correct his behavior or restrain himself after the 18th National Congress of the CPC, with severe nature and detrimental impact, therefore requiring serious action.
In accordance with relevant regulations such as the "Disciplinary Measures of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Administrative Punishment Law for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," after deliberations by the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, and approval by the Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC, it was decided to expel Yang Hui from the Party, terminate his public office, revoke his qualifications as a delegate to the 13th Party Congress of Guizhou Province, confiscate his proceeds from the violations, and transfer his suspected criminal matters to the procuratorate for review and prosecution, along with the relevant properties. The expulsion from the Party will be confirmed at the next plenary meeting of the Communist Party of China in Guizhou Province.
