Cholera epidemic is severe. Sudan receives over 2.9 million doses of vaccines.
On May 30th local time, the Sudanese Ministry of Health issued a statement stating that 2.9054 million doses of cholera vaccine arrived at the port city of Port Sudan in eastern Sudan on the same day. The statement said that these vaccines were donated to Sudan by the Vaccine Supply International Coordination Group managed by the World Health Organization, and will be transported to the severely affected states of Khartoum and North Kordofan, with plans to carry out a large-scale vaccination campaign for all citizens aged 1 and above in the coming days. The Ministry of Health called on all citizens in the targeted age group to go to the nearest vaccination center to receive the vaccine and adhere to other health guidelines to limit the spread of the epidemic.
