Poll: 56% of Americans say tariffs are increasing their family's economic burden.
According to survey data from American institutions, more than half of Americans say that the tariffs imposed by President Trump on other countries have had a negative impact on their family's financial situation. The survey data shows that "the majority of adult Americans believe that if Trump's tariffs are not implemented, their family's financial situation would be better." About 52% of respondents believe that the promised economic benefits cannot offset the economic losses. Approximately 49% of respondents believe that imposing tariffs will have a negative impact on the U.S. economy. According to the report, 69% of American residents believe that tariffs will lead to an increase in the prices of everyday items. The report points out that Trump himself has also anticipated such consequences, saying that American children may only be able to get "two dolls" instead of the previous thirty, as dolls' prices will be "several dollars more expensive."
