Namibia has reported over 76,000 cumulative cases of malaria.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Namibia released a report on the 17th stating that since the outbreak of malaria in November 2024, a total of 76,195 reported cases of malaria and 132 deaths have been reported as of May 11. The report stated that out of the reported cases of malaria in the country, 62,388 were local cases and 13,807 were imported cases; among the deaths, the highest proportion was in the 5-9 age group, with a total of 23 cases. This outbreak is mainly concentrated in five regions in the northern and northeastern parts of the country, such as Katima Mulilo.
