Portugal relaxed the restrictions on importing electricity from Spain after the power outage.

Portugal will increase the maximum import capacity of electricity from Spain to 1500 megawatts from 9 am to 8 pm from May 19 to May 26, with no restrictions at other times. Previously, due to power outages, Portugal had announced import restrictions from May 12 to May 19: 1000 megawatts from 9 am to 7 pm and 2200 megawatts at other times. Miguel Stilwell de Andrade, CEO of the Portuguese electricity company, stated that the Iberian Peninsula and other regions in Europe need more electricity interconnections and increased investment in the grid.
