The U.S. nuclear regulatory agency conducted a special inspection of a nuclear power plant.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said on Monday that it has conducted a special inspection of the Quad Cities Generating Station in Marseilles, Illinois after finding safety-related vacuum breakers were inoperable. The nuclear power plant, consisting of two units, is operated by Constellation Energy Company.

The U.S. Department of Energy has announced the first step in the largest regulatory rollback in the Department's history, proposing to eliminate or reduce 47 regulations that increase costs and lower the quality of life for the American people. Once finalized, these actions are expected to save Americans approximately $11 billion.
