The recycling rate of household waste in Beijing reached 42%.

According to the Beijing Urban Management Commission, since the implementation of the new "Beijing Municipal Solid Waste Management Regulations" five years ago, the city's household waste recycling rate has reached 42%, exceeding the target set in the "14th Five-Year Plan". The capacity for resource utilization of waste, mainly through incineration and biological treatment, has increased from 24,780 tons per day to 31,145 tons per day. This has enabled the city to achieve zero landfilling of native waste one year ahead of schedule.
