Beijing highways are welcoming the peak of return traffic to Beijing starting at 4 PM, with heavy traffic volume towards the city.
According to the Beijing Municipal Transportation Committee, on May 4th and 5th, there will be a peak in traffic flow on Beijing's expressways as travelers return to the city. Due to high traffic volume and rainy weather, from 4pm to 8pm, there may be slow traffic on the highways leading into Beijing such as the Jingzang, Jingcheng, Jingli, Jingping, Jingganga, Jingkai, Jingha, and Beijing Capital Airport expressways, as well as certain sections of the Sixth Ring Road. Traffic queues may occur at the checkpoints for entering Beijing, such as at Kangzhuang on the Jingzang Expressway, Simatai on the Jingcheng Expressway, Liulihe on the Jingganga Expressway, and Yingsi on the Jinghu Expressway.
