"Snow Dragon 2" docks at Hobart port, Australia.
Today, Beijing time, the Chinese research icebreaker "Xuelong 2" conducting the 41st Antarctic research mission has docked at Hobart Port in Australia for replenishing supplies. Some team members have disembarked here and will take flights back to China. During this research mission, the "Xuelong 2" has sailed over 32,000 nautical miles, successfully completed the construction of supporting facilities at the Antarctic Kunlun Station, conducted investigations in the Amundsen Sea, and held a public open day event in Lyttelton Port, New Zealand. In addition, the "Xuelong 2" has actively engaged in international cooperation, with research team members from 9 countries collectively completing China's first autumn Antarctic research task. The 41st Chinese Antarctic research mission, organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources, is supported by three vessels: "Xuelong," "Xuelong 2," and "Yongsheng." "Xuelong" and "Yongsheng" have completed their research tasks, while "Xuelong 2" is expected to return to Shanghai in June.
