Heavy rainfall has caused disasters in many areas of Sichuan, leading to the early evacuation of 89,696 people.
According to the Sichuan Provincial Geological Disaster Command Office, as of 7:00 AM on August 1, the "729" rainfall event has affected 88,203 people in 77 counties across 13 cities, including Chengdu, Zigong, Deyang, Mianyang, Guangyuan, Neijiang, Leshan, Meishan, Yibin, Ya'an, Ziyang, Aba, and Liangshan. The affected agricultural area is 742.4 hectares, with 3 households consisting of 9 rooms having collapsed, leading to direct economic losses exceeding 40.97 million yuan. By 7:00 AM on the 1st, a total of 89,696 people had been evacuated in 24 hours across 95 counties in 14 cities in Sichuan. Thus, since the onset of the flood season, a cumulative total of 817,200 people have been evacuated across the province.
