According to the Zhitong Finance and Economics APP, on July 22nd, the Ministry of Transport released the transportation and economic operation situation for the first half of 2026. In the first half of the year, the overall transportation and economic operation was stable, with key indicators showing growth. The volume of commercial freight transport, port cargo throughput, and the scale of cross-regional personnel flow continued to increase. In terms of cross-regional personnel flow, a total of 341.7 billion people completed cross-regional personnel flow in the first half of the year, an increase of 1.2% year-on-year, with a 0.1% increase in the second quarter. In terms of mode of transportation, the number of people traveling on roads reached 313.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 0.9%; the number of waterway passengers reached 1.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%.
