Xing Chaohong, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Ecological Environment of the Ministry of Finance: By 2026, the central government will allocate 20 billion yuan for natural disaster relief. Since the start of the flood season, the central government has activated the rapid fund allocation mechanism 8 times, with a total fund allocation of 11.9 billion yuan to disaster-affected areas. At the same time, the central government has allocated a budget of 14.5 billion yuan through channels such as funds for disaster prevention and reduction in agricultural production, disaster relief in water conservancy, key projects in the transportation sector, and central budget investments. In terms of material support, the Ministry of Finance has strongly supported emergency rescue supplies for livelihood assistance, flood prevention and drought resistance, and forest fire prevention and elimination, with a total value of 3.418 billion yuan in stockpiled materials as of mid-July. Since the beginning of this year, relevant departments have urgently allocated 538,400 items worth 145 million yuan to disaster-affected areas. Currently, we are in the critical period of flood prevention known as the "seven down and eight up" period. The Ministry of Finance will strengthen communication and coordination with emergency response, water conservancy, agriculture, and transportation departments to effectively ensure local safety during the flood season.
